You know it's true:

We work hard every day to develop better products and services in order to serve our existing customers better and to draw new customers to us who want something better than what they're getting now.

Meanwhile, those dirty, rotten scoundrels in big government and big business -- who have vast resources and deep insider connections -- are reaching out every day with their unethical and immoral propaganda in order to manipulate those same customers and prospects we are honestly and earnestly working hard to serve.

By the time we get to them, their defenses are up, their window shades are pulled down, the front and back doors are securely locked and bolted tight, and their BS meters are set to maximum sensitivity.

Let's face it: these rich propagandists simply are bad apples ruining everything for all of us honest, hard-working business folks.

Why would any potential customer
believe anything we have to say?

You see the declining results firsthand for good business people like us every day:

  • The days when generally we could expect quality instead of crap are long gone -- isn't it true?
  • The days when generally we could expect reasonable and prompt service are long gone -- isn't it true?

By the sheer volume of junk, false claims, false promises, and weasel bait-and-switch clauses foisted upon our precious customers by big corporations, we have become guilty by association because of the actions of those bad apples: "all sellers lie to you and rip you off."

We can't blame our prospects and customers for becoming cautious and downright suspicious of any seller who approaches them -- anymore than we would blame an abused dog of cowering in fear of approaching strangers.

They're doing the reasonable thing by protecting themselves from getting screwed over and over again.

And as business people selling our products and services, we're already guilty by association because of those bad apples who are ruining it for the rest of us. We've already been condemned before we've had a chance to prove our innocence.

How can we as sellers

in all this darkness and distrust?

Bill Henthorn

Growing up in Princeton, New Jersey and Honolulu, Hawaii, in a family where generals, ambassadors, and other power elites were dinner guests, Bill gained a deep sense of how the world really operates apart from the marketing and propaganda messages we see every day.
